Savarin - Daring Bakers April Challenge

I'm yet again late with the Bakers Challenge, but here it is!
Natalia of Gatti Fili e Farina challenges us to make a traditional Savarin, complete with soaking syrup and cream filling! We were to follow the Savarin recipe but were allowed to be creative with the soaking syrup and filling, allowing us to come up with some very delicious cakes!

Mine was fairly straightforward ( as I was running out of time!!)  So I opted for a Strawberry syrup and cream. I dont knwo that I would ever make this again as it was rather time intensive with proofing twice and letting it rest and kneading (which I totally didnt get the hang of! it was WAY too wet!). But it was interesting to try a cake that was actually a yeast cake. Rather peculiar! 
I'm just waiting for the day that someone decides that Macarons are the next challenge. Then I'm ALL OVER that one :)
