Im proud of my flat mate, Janae. We had a public holiday yesterday ( something Catholic... Corpus Christi) and so on Wednesday Janae decided she'd try to bake some Danish...or danishes.. what is the plural of that? So she bought all the ingredients and reading off the cook book in her little iTouch, she made the dough. It had to rest overnight so in the morning, she was up and made cute figure-8 raspberry Danishes. They were REALLY yummy! She only made 1/3 of the batch up, while the rest sat in the fridge continuing to be happy in there with the other sweet goods ( ahem, my strawberry tart attempt, a parfait quark thingy also with strawberries, and shall I say the Strawberry Upsidedown cake? Can you tell its Strawberry season??). But last night, I said, hey, you have to make it up otherwise it will just go off. So she did and what turned out?? Amazing Pain au Chocolat things, and Cinnimon Sticky Buns! VERY pretty things and deliciously yummy. She doesnt bake a whole lot so I'm very proud of her for doing a bread/pastry dough! Pics to come.
